When:  11/11/2022 – 11/13/2022

Where:  Dugan Park – 6040 Greenway Ct., Manassas VA 20112

Departure Details: Please arrive at FUPCDC by 4:30pm on Friday.  We will conduct a check-in, health check, and packing out gear.  We anticipate leaving by 5:30pm.  Your Scouts should have eaten an early dinner beforehand.  The Scouts will eat a snack upon arrival at campsite. ***Will need to identify drivers and how many Scouts they can take in their vehicles***

Return Details: Anticipate Scouts returning back to FUPCDC around 10:00 on Sunday.

Event Details: Scouting for Food Pickup, AOL Recruiting Event, Adult Trebuchet Demonstrations, Campfire Event, Leadership Skills, Scout Games.

Uniform: Class A Uniform for Friday Departure and Saturday Scouting for Food Pick Up / AOL Events.

What to bring: This event will be outdoors in November. Scouts should wear comfortable/breathable clothing (check the weather), closed toe shoes (no open toed shoes or sandals); consider a backpack with a water source (canteen or camel back), their scout handbook, sunscreen, bug spray, personal first aid kit. They should also pack an appropriate weather-appropriate daywear, headwear, sleeping bags.  Cell Phones are not allowed and should be left at home.

Personal Packing List:

Scout Handbook

1 daypack

1 one quart water bottle

1 flashlight/headlamp with new batteries

1 pocket knife

1 personal first aid kit

1 pair of hiking boots

2 pair hiking socks (preferably wool for cold temperatures)

2 pair long pants (1 underlayer for cold weather)

1 pair walking shorts (not needed if cold weather)

2 long sleeve shirt (wear 1 / bring 1 cold weather, light wool or synthetic is best)

2 t-shirts (one for day, one for sleeping)

2 pair underwear shorts

1 cold weather jacket

1 knit cap (cold weather)

1 set of gloves (cold weather)

1 sleeping bag 20 degree (or 2 light weight sleeping bags – stuff one inside the other for sleeping)

1 sleeping pad

1 toilet kit (toothpaste, tooth brush, small towel-dish towel is fine)

1 mess kit (e.g., plate, bowl, plastic mug, spoon, fork, spork)

Event Open to: Scouts / Adults / AOL Scouts and Parents

Registration Deadline: 10/31/2022 before midnight

Registration Fee: $26.00 (Per person)   

Cost Basis: Troop supply fee $3, Troop equipment fee $5, and Food $18.00 ($4.50/meal x 4)

Scouting for Food Drivers: Please let us know if you are able to drive scouts to Scouting for Food Collection Saturday morning. Drivers not camping should meet at church no later than 8:30am Saturday for a 9:00am departure.

*Note* We are using Group Registrations by default. If your scout is the only one attending, select 1 as the number of members in your group.

Health & COVID Safety: Much of scouting brings individuals closer than 6 feet. The troop will follow local health department ordinances. Scouts will be asked general health questions and have a touchless temperature taken at arrival. If the scout is sick or not feeling well, please stay home. If anyone in the family is sick or not feeling well, please stay home.

Cellphone Policy: Cell phones are a prohibited item as per troop policy and not allowed at this campout.  Troop 964 will not be responsible for lost, stolen, or broken cell phones.  Cell Phones found with scouts after arrival will be collected and locked in a lockbox in the troop trailer for the duration of the event.  Scouts will not have access to their cell phones for the duration of the event unless granted permission from the Scoutmaster, or an Assistant Scoutmaster for use in completing a scouting related activity.  Parents and scouts not in agreement with this policy should refrain from attending this troop event.

Scout Behavior: Please discuss with your scout that living up to the Scout Oath and Law is expected at all Troop 964 Events or event attended with Troop 964. Troop 964 will not tolerate harassment of any kind.  Unit Leaders will have a (1) strike policy.  Parents will be contacted to pick up their scout if any behavior issues are encountered.  This is non-negotiable.
